Description: Dharahara, also known as Bhimsen Tower, was a nine-story tall UNESCO-recognized structure built by Bhimsen Thapa in 1832. Originally constructed to serve as a watchtower for military use, it was open to public in 2005 and became a major tourist attraction. In 1934, an earthquake destroyed all but two stories and it was subsequently rebuilt only to collapse completely 81 years later in the April 25 earthquake in 2015.
